I'm David, and I created FutureFitYOU after watching too many active adults over 50 train hard but plateau  or worse, get injured doing movements they thought were "safe."

 

I've spent the last several years studying how aging affects movement, researching what actually predicts fall risk and functional decline, and testing these principles on myself and others. What I found surprised me: most people aren't missing effort or motivation. They're missing a framework for what to prioritize.

The gap wasn't in the work. It was in the thinking.

That's what FutureFitYOU fixes. Not more workouts — better clarity on what matters most right now.

I'm not a trainer - and that's the point

I'm not a personal trainer or physical therapist. What I am is someone who's obsessed with understanding the gap between how people train and what their bodies actually need after 50. I've read the research, talked to experts, tested the frameworks, and distilled it into something usable.
 

FutureFitYOU isn't about credentials,
it's about pattern recognition.

 

After working with dozens of adults 50+, the same gaps kept appearing: stability ignored, intensity prioritized too early, and training that looked productive but didn't translate into real-world capability.

How I Think About Midlife Fitness

Most fitness assessments for older adults focus on flexibility, aerobic capacity, or max strength. These matter, but they don't predict the outcomes that determine long-term independence: fall risk, injury resilience, and functional capacity.

I assess fitness differently, through three layers:

1. Structural Capacity
2. Performance Capacity
3. Functional & Predictive Markers

The key insight: If you don't address these layers in order, you're training on unstable ground.
